Surface high pressure today with light winds. A sub 995 mb low pressure system will start to approach the region Tuesday night- Wednesday morning with increasing southerlies over much of the waters. A Gale Watch has been issued for the coastal waters and East Entrance as hi-res guidance (REFS and HREF) indicate a 50-70% chance of gusts exceeding 35 kt late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. SCA advisory may be needed for other inland water zones during this time as well. Broad high pressure will redevelop on Thursday and into the end of the week, bringing generally benign marine conditions to the waters. Coastal seas remaining 3 to 5 feet throughout Tuesday. Seas will then build up to 9 to 11 feet Wednesday morning. Seas will remain elevated into Thursday before decreasing on Friday and into the weekend, back down to 3 to 5 feet. 41 (Issued: 1041 AM PDT Tue Mar 31 2026 by NOAA)

Parawing - if you were going to only buy one size of parawing for Ross Bay, what would you buy 3, 3.5, 4 (looking at the new Quest)?

Weight, ability, board type and foil etc all factor in. Short answer: for a light weight, 3m. Heavier rider, 4m. Quest looks like a nice PW! RB swell gets good from 18 knots plus, so no need for bigger than 4m. A harness will max out your upper wind range. Last night I was on a 4.3 from 18-@30 in the gusts and the harness made all the difference. I'm about 210 pounds currently and slowly weaning myself off the Haagen Dazs . 76L board and 830 foil for reference.

hey thanks! I am only 155 lb, okay winger, and usually ride same 830 foil when not super light wind. I like to wing overpowered (was on a 4.5 m yesterday) to not get stuck out there in the inevitable lulls but I gather overfabriced on parawing can be very unpleasant (although supposedly Quest de-power is major improvement). Sounds like 3.5 at most (with option to buy 2.5 at some point), maybe just go for the 3.

parawing beginner...it sucks to be under powered when learning. Experts can finesse it, but wobbly learners benefit from some juice. That may mean a bigger wing than optimal in early stages, size down later. But maybe experts will weigh in and say different.

Should be fixed now hopefully. When you do your sailing log and it displays, there is a Add GPS link at the top right. It will take you to the gps track upload page and auto fill in a Title (you can change it) and the Activity type and it will use that sailing log.

If you have multiple sailing logs and tracks in 1 day, just View your sailing log and use the Add GPS link to upload the corresponding track.

CB 3.7 to 4.0. Three WS out. Doesn't smell too herring-y. Where is everyone?
