Re: Armstrong UHA vs HA
Yes the stabilizer can really change the feel. The 170 surf should work well with the 880 but I haven't tried it yet. I've used the 120/140 darts and 130 surf and prefer the 130. I like the 130 for all my foils now. The 120 and 130 look identical but they feel a lot different.

Re: Armstrong UHA vs HA
Yeah I mostly agree with Poper. HA880 is really good and unless you are downwinding (Sup or para) then I'd get that for winging over the UHA. The 880 has lots of glide and is my light wind foil <20 kts but I'm a light weight. You can pair the 880 with the 120 or 130 tail to really loosen it up.

Re: Gear question / advice - Gloves
Regular dish gloves work for me down to about 6deg. Everything else gives me forearm cramps. Just make sure they fit well (not too loose) and that you tuck them inside the wetsuit. Also the blue ones are warmer than the yellow.

Re: Cow Bay webcam needs re-aiming
Sorry for the late reply. I looked at the YouTube footage from yesterday and it appears that they took it down for some roofing work. Hopefully it will be back once they are done. For now, please enjoy the roof.

Re: Deep Bay Webcam
Thanks Bill & Markus:
FYI it should be a 10 minute job and no ladder is needed. Everything is done inside the house. The webcam just needs to be changed from static IP to DHCP. I can't remember what static LAN IP the webcam was set to, but probably 192.168.0.XX or 192.168.1.XX and port 8000.

Hi Ken:
It's a bit tricky with a new router since the camera is on a different local IP address. The camera address needs to be changed so it can talk to the new router. I need to visit, or if you know a person with some network knowledge then I can talk them through it. They would need a laptop ...

Correct. It is one of the things that I never got working on the new site. I’ll take a look to see what it will take to get working.

Greg Caws
As many have heard by now, we lost a well known community member this week. Greg Caws (aka snarfer) was a sailor, windsurfer, kiteboarder and winger and a big contributor and supporter of the BWD website. He was the main person that brought us the Ross Bay webcam. My thoughts go out to his family ...

Re: Cadboro Bay?
I'm not sure about Caddy Bay, but people might be out at Willows Beach today. Just be aware of the many dangers: high tide with logs, high wind and cold water, dog poo, etc
Also, there was a poor water quality from 2 days ago in Cadboro Bay: https://bigwavedave.ca/water-quality.html?site=475#data ...
