Quadra Island

Anybody wing foil or kited while on the island? Lots of currents off Cape Mudge .... What about Rebecca Spit on the inside or outside? thanks. Family camping, but would like to get out.

I haven't kited there myself, but I've had a quick chat with someone who has, so I'll share the limited info I have.

They said they regularly kite Rebecca Spit. Sounded like warm, sunny days consistently bring wind (may require summer heat). I think they kite the inside. They mentioned that the wind speed increases quite a lot as you go further out the spit.

Let us know if you give it a go!

The SE fills in to the Spit nicely on the east side just across from the boat ramp is a good access with a little point and bay. The NW comes off the land and is quite gusty. Pretty marginal unless you go east into the channel, but its side off and 5 miles to Marina Island if you cant stay upwind. Ive seen a few days with NW15 knots in Drew Harbour. Flat water novelty.
