I'm about to invest in the HA 880. Some excellent reviews from the Ross Bay wing group.
The UHA just came out.
Can somebody explain the pros and cons of the two?
Still pretty green. My main goal is to flag out my wing and ride the swells like you guys.

Hey Joe! I love my 880HA and I don't think you can go wrong with it. I'm 90 kg and it's my go-to front wing for anything more than 15 knots.
In terms of UHA vs HA I can summarize my experience so far with my 970UHA compared to my 1080HA. The higher aspect ratio and section of the 970UHA gives it earlier lift, lower bottom end, higher top end, better glide, and better pump than the 1080HA. The 970UHA feels a little bit more "locked in" or "tracky" than my 1080HA, but it turns about the same. The 970UHA is less pitch stable than the 1080HA and this took a bit of getting used to -- I think a narrow stance is important on the UHAs. For light wind conditions I really appreciate the efficiency of the 970UHA, and it's pretty much replaced my 1080HA (which I'll probably list here soon).
My understanding is that the comparable UHA to the 880HA would be the 770UHA. I'm not sure if the additional cost of the 770UHA (about $300 I think) would be worth the additional efficiency for me personally because in more powered up conditions the 880HA is already so amazing. I love everything about it, including its pitch stability since it's often wavy when I'm using it. That said, I haven't tried the 770UHA and maybe I would absolutely love it. No plans to purchase one anytime soon though. My wife won't let me anyway

Yeah I mostly agree with Poper. HA880 is really good and unless you are downwinding (Sup or para) then I'd get that for winging over the UHA. The 880 has lots of glide and is my light wind foil <20 kts but I'm a light weight. You can pair the 880 with the 120 or 130 tail to really loosen it up.

I went with the HA 880 and paired with the surf MK II 170 stabilizer.
Urban surf at Seattle recommended that over the dart. The stabiliser often does not ger the attention it deserves. Any comments on that?

Yes the stabilizer can really change the feel. The 170 surf should work well with the 880 but I haven't tried it yet. I've used the 120/140 darts and 130 surf and prefer the 130. I like the 130 for all my foils now. The 120 and 130 look identical but they feel a lot different.
The 170 should unlock another level of glide on the 880. Have fun and report back.

Stabs have a huge effect and can transform a glidey foil to one that is happier to roll/turn and can make a surfier foil more glidey all within reason. For example my Atlas 960 (AR 11) with an Atlas 170 tail (similar AR) is glidey but resists sharper turns. Put a Nomad 155 tail on it (AR 9-ish) and it starts to really loosen up in roll but with a little glide penalty. Same will hold true for the 880 (I really like the Dart140), but tune to taste. Get weird with it; you might be surprised at some of the combos that work; just keep in mind what you're trying to acheive (glide vs roll/maneuverability).
