Warm down from yesterday. Wing session followed by a burn on the pwing. Today was pre-Easter pwing day so multiple new parawings in Easter colours out getting baptized by the Pope, BWD, and Rupdog. Wind wasn’t totally cooperative but a grand occasion nonetheless.

Another best Para sesh so far. Managed to point up wind a few degrees and made a couple jibes. Then a couple runs on 4.8 wing followed by a great powered up 3.5 wing sesh in 1.5ft rideable waves. Came back to ambulances, firetrucks, police and a car on its side 10 ft from my van. Ross Bay excitement. Can't get that in Chicama.

This was a special one.
Somehow, growing up in the interior of BC, I had surfing photos on my wall at seven years old. I asked my mom why, and the only explanation she has is that when she tipped a canoe while pregnant with me, I got my first taste of water—and that was it. Hooked before I was even born.

Another fantastic foil sesh in the spring sun. Started with 5m since Poper was out on a 4.5 and was super well powered and thrived in the swells. Then it reduced and made it harder to stay up so I switched to 6m. Played well and carved the swells by Clover til I felt damagingly op'd. Swells were the best just off Clover. Best p-wing day yet. Loving all aspects of this sport, especially fishing the wet and heavy garbage bag out of the water, constantly running over the lines and then when finally standing up, getting yanked over the nose. I did manage a few foiling runs as Shaggy gybed around me looking pro. Sure glad I got the Powerpack- it seems to really suit my style of riding.

Wierd on-and-off sess with sun and and good convos with Doc, BWD and new guys.. I have two logs because I thought things were over after the first 35 mins. And then, it was back on again. Had to stay on 4.3 which was an arm torquer at times but things kept dropping out, so played it safe. It was a low bar but the only objective was to avoid swimming in. Mission accomplished.

Another front foil loaner day courtesy of WindJunky! This time taking his Axis Spitfire 900 for a spin. Very nice little foil, had a similar stable feel to my HPS series, but definitely felt faster, turns nice, hard to really judge the glide today as there was very little wave or swell or wave energy to be had. More and more of them pwing'a-ding things appearing out there. A beautiful sunny day, no complaints! Happy Easter, hope everyone scores lots of cadbury mini eggs

Saw some slog/foil going on when i arrived, so I rigged 1099 foil and 5m hand wing. Conditions were definitely on the lighter side for me; easier lift returning w/swell than outgoing. Connected some swell, mowed lawn, then wind seemed to drop a couple of knots and I called it after some extended slogging, wind picked up again when I was packing up  . PWing posse out there today!

Arrived to a bunch of doods on the beach and H-Rock out foiling off C-Lover. Chatted for a bit then decided to rig the 5.0m KT Direct Drive. Great choice Bobson!! Lasted for awhile then was overpowered so decided to rig the newish 4.5m KT Astro. Not the best idea Bobson. Early session cause I had to be on the 1pm ferry. Cruisy with a short and sneaky pwing debut/flail in the middle. Worked on some tacks and made a couple of upwind foiling 360s. Mostly solo and joined by SAJohn toward the end. Gorgeous and sunny and lots of doods arriving as I packed up.

No problem getting through the shorebreak, Whoot! But found I could not get on foil, realized that I was towing a large piece of kelp, so stopped and untangled. Up and going again blew my first gybe and found myself in confused large swell, had issues getting going again and never really had a good run  exited feeling like a medium to small DAWG! Kuddos to the big dawgs who made it work out there, it was a challenging day!

Nice Willows session. It was pretty gusty with some holes. The shore break can be challenging! Decent swell. Had my best gybe so far! Nice to be on the water with the Pope, Paul, and Gord.

Arrived as Ozy went out on 4.0 so took some photos of him and Alex stunting/looping. Alex did a few nice wave 360s. Wind dropped so we waited and chatted to gauge what the wind wanted to do. I found Willows to be too much for me and my 4m so I headed to Cad Bay and put in at Loon Bay Park and avoided the crazy shorebreak. Getting out (and in) was tedious due to swirling winds at mouth of Loon Bay. But it was immediately big wind and swell once in Cad. It always felt like a DH going into the bay with the big SE wind compounding the incoming swell. A bit big and gnarly for this sedentary senior. I ended it once it started to rain and my anxiety exceeded fun.

Touch of Clover fomo but had to work in Sidney no so time for the south tip. Almost went out on 3.5 but luckily went with 2.9 and could have been on 2.5. Big waves with big cross chop made for breachy conditions. Got some long screamers though and managed to pump to shore, no swim in.

Some of the best waves I've seen at Willows. The combo of very light lulls in between gusts and steep chop made it challenging to get up. A touch of Big Dawg Clover FOMO today, but I just got my 3.5m back from the repair shop after I ripped it on a Clover SE and I didn't want a repeat  . Fun sailing with ColdSnap, Gord and RVP.

Wasn’t going but to watch. Missed the white smoke 4.0 20 min w/ no waves, guys huddling @beach, I got the bigger hike, no waves sesh hoped for the Maui wave/sand, it never came, the spot seems broken. Short ok session. Caught 3 waves then wind became fickle til I quit. Of course it came back later but no waves no fun. 4J was out & Daner out late

That was a fun one. Big swell and not crazy windy. The wind was lighter at the start and the swell was super smooth with easy sailing conditions. The wind ramped up and it got a bit trickier, especially on the outside with the occasional stick or log to dodge. Love the SE.

Biggest conditions I've parawinged in. Tweezer the Big Dog was ripping on 2.5 PW and BWD, TK, Finn, Greg, Ruppdog, Tuna all out shredding the gnar as well. Dropping in to OH swell was pretty exciting while trying to douse the PW, but I had about 3 waves that felt absolutely incredible. High speed banked turns back up the face and speeding back down into another high-G turn...OMG so good. 22.5 knots ripping down the wave face with no wing in the way is epic. Text from Snapper last night drawing me out of my post surgical hibernation to join him for a SE session at the mouth of Nanoose Bay Wednesday morning. Arrived to mellow shore conditions with lots of action about 500M out. A couple good gusts and onwards to the good stuff with mixed chop and swell and plenty of whitewater. Apparently the new motto for the Pt.Holmes navy is like the army - ie we get more done before 9am.....
With a gale forecast, all 3 of decided to get out before the surf break became unpassable - had a few good runs, but then became WAY overpowered on the 5m.
Would have liked to come in and switch to the 4m, but said surf would have made that not fun.
Good while it lasted though.

Promising OSRs and windy webcams convinced me to give CP a try. I switched to medium foil and went with a 6m. It felt less than marginal by the time I got on the water as BSon and I crept to a murky wind line. I got lucky with a couple of friendly gusts that got me up but was never able finish a gybe on foil. There were lots of teaser gusts, but never enough steady wind to keep you flying. I wisely followed Paul in while there was wind to pull on. Nice sun!
